An overview
As part of the UK Scrappage Scheme, the Government are offering £1,000 towards any new Mazda when you trade in a vehicle that's at least 10 years old*. Mazda is fully behind this scheme as part of our commitment to reducing CO2 emissions and helping you save money. In fact, as of the 1st July 2009, we have increased our support on selected models, saving you up to £6,000 off the recommended retail price as quoted in the Mazda range price list.
- Mazda RX-8 R3 now available with £5,000 Mazda Scrappage Allowance (so that's £6,000 off the purchase price)
- Mazda5 now available with £3,000 Mazda Scrappage Allowance (so that's £4,000 off the purchase price)
- Mazda BT-50 now available with up to £5,000 Mazda Scrappage Allowance (so that's up to £6,000 off the purchase price)
- All-new Mazda3 now available with £2,000 Mazda Scrappage Allowance (so that's £3,000 off the purchase price)
- New Mazda MX-5 now available with £2,000 Mazda Scrappage Allowance (so that's £3,000 off the purchase price)
- Mazda2 and Mazda6 available with £1,000 Mazda Scrappage Allowance (so that's £2,000 off the purchase price)
How Scrappage Works
In order to qualify for the scrappage scheme your vehicle must meet the following criteria:
- Your vehicle must be first registered in United Kingdom on or before 31 August 1999
- Your vehicle must be currently registered with DVLA to the registered keeper making the application, SORN vehicles are excluded from the Mazda Vehicle Scrappage Scheme.
- Your vehicle must have a current MOT test certificate
- The registered keeper must have a UK address
- You must be the registered keeper of the vehicle continuously for the preceding 12 calendar months before the order date of the new vehicle
- All passenger cars or small vans up to 3.5 tonnes are eligible
All you need to do is take your current vehicle to your nearest Mazda dealership with the following:
- V5 vehicle log book
- Valid MOT certificate
- Personal Identification

*The Government/Mazda scrappage payment applies to cars or LCV's first registered on or before 31 August 1999 only when traded-in against new cars or LCVs. The new vehicle must be ordered between 1 July 2009 and 28 Feb 2010, and registered within 4 months of ordered date. Scrapped vehicles must have been registered to the purchaser for at least 12 months preceding the purchase of the vehicle, be taxed and insured and come with a valid MOT certificate. The registered keeper must have a UK address and the trade-in vehicle must be clear of finance. Terms and conditions apply. Subject to availability at participating dealers only, and subject to availability of funds from the Government Car and Van Scrappage Scheme.
